Creative Recovery - My Artist Goals for 2024

Updated: Mar 14, 2024

Three books overlapping each other. Thriving Artists MAP, The Artist Way Workbook and the Artists Way book

As we begin the new year, we're anticipating to have a lot of motivation and inspiration to reach the goals that we set for ourselves. This year, I'm being more intentional about my goals while still making time for self-care and creative recovery.

My Artist Goals for 2024

Biggest Goals:
  • Create an income source from art markets

  • Continue to work and develop new art workshops

  • Rebrand and sell my art online

  • Start the "door" canvas - it is a canvas I bought over a year ago that is the size of a door. I have not started to paint on it due to fear

Middle Goals:
  • Outsource more products like my bookmarks

  • Develop a consistent studio practice and get more organized with my studio time

  • Complete the Artists Way

  • Apply for grants to help with funding art workshop kits

  • Creating a healthy relationship with posting my art on social media

Smaller Goals:
  • Get newsletter sign-ups

  • SEO improvement for my shop and website

  • Update my portfolio

  • Finding an online presence that won't burn me out

  • Rearrange my studio

  • Watch the art classes I have purchased and complete the exercises

What I WON’T Be Focusing On, To Make Space:
  • Letting fear, perfectionism, doubt and people-pleasing take over my practice

  • Buying more art classes

  • Feeling ashamed about my art and myself as an artist

  • Anxiety about the unknown and uncertainty with my creative recovery

I hope this has helped you think about what creative goals you want to set for yourself this year! I'm excited to see what this new year brings for my personal and professional development as an artist.
